Warning Date: 4:24 PM PST on March 9, 2010
WarningSum:...Winter Weather Advisory In Effect From 2 Am To 2 Pm Pst
Wednesday Above 2000 Feet...
Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory above 2000 feet for snow...which is in effect
from 2 am to 2 PM PST Wednesday for the northern Sierra and
the foothills.
* Snow accumulations: up to 3 inches in the foothills...3 to
7 inches in the higher mountains and at the passes.
* Elevation: above 2000 feet.
* Timing: snow showers will begin by late evening and become
numerous overnight and continue into Wednesday morning.
* Locations include: Interstate 80...Highway 50...state routes
88...89...and 4. Grass Valley...Nevada City.
* Winds: local southwest gusts up to 40 mph by Wednesday morning.
* Impacts: falling snow and local areas of blowing snow may cause
difficult travel conditions over the higher terrain.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
